Life within the shadows
This body of work titled “Life within the shadows” was made during the first few weeks of the COVID-19 restrictions. The Global Pandemic was unexpected, we faced a lot of change, with our everyday lives restricted considerably. This work is a visual documentation of my experience through this time.
“Life within the shadows” quietly presented itself to me during lockdown and became a daily documentation of the slow and quiet life within my four walls. The images focus on the concept of isolation, solitude and adapting to a new normal.
The function of my living space had become cross functional, with no boundaries. Undertones of grief, reflection and uncertainty are seen within the imagery. There is a contrast of lighter moments within the shadows which reflect hope to an end to the times we are living in.
