“Delicious Budgets”
At first glance, the images which I have shot and arranged looks like some weird take on the food photography genre or even mistaken for a grocery store food catalogue, but placed against a black background that isolates the food from anything else, the aim is to present these meals and ingredients as the only available choices and nothing else.
These foodstuffs represent only some of the frequent meals and ingredients that Malaysian students buy on a weekly budget that doesn’t go beyond what they define as too ‘expensive’. On a weekly basis, Malaysian students back at home can comfortability spend around RM84 - RM210 (€28 - €42) on food, while here in Ireland they spend around €10 - €25.
As of now, RM1.00 is only equivalent to just €0.20 cents.
