My Illuminated Motion
The project creates a feeling of space, depth and a sense of time by capturing wide angle shots using long exposure. I was inspired by an artist named Tokihiro Sato about his playful interaction of light within landscapes. By creating illuminated lines drawn with flashlights, my motion and presence was recorded, and in each photograph, my interaction was presented differently in order to be harmonious with the landscape. The project is mainly experimental, therefore various methods and techniques were approached in each shoot for visual aesthetics. However, the techniques give a sense of worshipping natural objects that are often overlooked, and they are treated as pieces of art rather than a background. Surrealism has always been my interest which pushed the production of the work, ordinary landscapes are interrupted by strings or dots of light, which allows the viewer to see what the human eye naturally can not.
